BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A Turning Point USA event is still expected to take place in Baton Rouge following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

The event is set to take place at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 27, at the Raising Cane’s River Center Theatre. Doors to the event are set to open at 5 p.m. You must get registered and get a ticket ahead of time.

A spokesperson for LSU confirmed the university’s Turning Point USA chapter is hosting the event. It is expected to feature Governor Jeff Landry and Allie Beth Stuckey, according to organizers.

Kirk co-founded Turning Point USA in 2012. He was shot and killed while holding an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, September 10. Since Kirk’s death, his widow, Erika Kirk, has been announced as the organization’s new CEO.
