NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The discussion about the potential risks of using acetaminophen continues, following claims from President Trump and leading health officials that the drug may be linked to autism.
Acetaminophen is the active ingredient in Tylenol, one of the most widely used medications in the world.
“Don’t take Tylenol,” Trump instructed pregnant women around a dozen times during a White House news conference. He also urged mothers not to give infants the drug, known by the generic name acetaminophen in the U.S. or paracetamol in other countries.
Trump and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr said the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will begin updating the label on acetaminophen and will begin notifying physicians that Tylenol “can be associated with a very increased risk of au
