MERCED, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Police are asking for information regarding a hit-and-run incident from August in Merced that left a man dead after he was hit twice.
On Monday, Aug. 26, at around 9 p.m., an unidentified man in his 40s was crossing E Yosemite Avenue near Cordova Avenue in North Merced.
Police said that the first incident was a hit-and-run when a Toyota was traveling eastbound and hit the man and fled the scene. The man was left in the roadway.
The second driver, police said, struck the man and immediately pulled out of the road. The driver stayed on the scene and waited for police and cooperated with the investigation.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found that the man was dead.
