The trial against former state Sen. Andy Sanborn on charges of illegally obtaining additional COVID-19 relief money from the state for his business, Concord Casino, is being delayed until April.

The trial was originally set to begin next month but has since been moved with jury selection scheduled for April 7, according to the court docket. The trial could last up to three weeks.

Sanborn, a Republican from Bedford, faces charges of theft by deception and theft by unauthorized taking. His business, Win Win Win LLC, is also charged.

A final pretrial hearing is set for March 16.

The Attorney General’s Office alleges Sanborn misrepresented the gross receipts of the business by approximately $1 million in order to receive $188,474 from the first round of the state’s Main Street Relief Fund.
