BEAVERTON, Ore. — Community leaders and residents gathered Tuesday for a town hall in response to racist graffiti spray-painted on a Korean church in southwest Portland last May.
The event, hosted by the Korean Society of Oregon, brought together church members, business owners, young people and local leaders to share concerns and discuss solutions. Beaverton Mayor Lacey Beaty, Beaverton City Councilman Dr. Edward Kimmi, Washington County District Attorney Kevin Barton, Congresswoman Andrea Salinas, Washington County Sheriff Caprice Massey and Beaverton Chief of Police Stacy Jepson were on hand to talk about the importance of safety and reporting crimes that happen.
