MILLINGTON, Tenn.- A 69-year-old man died after being shot in the head at a home in the Millington area. This happened around 11 a.m. Monday on Bonnie Brae Drive.

36-year-old Daniel Optiz is charged with first-degree murder and possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

"What is going on? Because nothing ever happens in this neighborhood," said Mae Russell, a neighbor.

Russell told FOX13 her quiet street turned into a crime scene while she was at the doctor Monday morning. "When I got home, this street was filled with policemen and detectives," she said.

Shelby County Sheriff's deputies responded to an emergency call at a home on Bonnie Brae Drive and found 69-year-old Randall Taylor unresponsive on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head.
