PUNTA GORDA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is reporting authorities are on the scene of a shooting involving a deputy in the area of Deep Creek.

A post on the sheriff’s office Facebook page at about 6:30 p.m. says the incident occurred on Saxony Circle.

No deputies were shot and the medical condition of a suspect is unknown at this time.

The sheriff’s office has described the scene as “very active and ongoing.”
