FARRELL, Pa. - The Shenango Valley Urban League celebrated the grand opening of its Empowerment Gift Shop Monday morning.

The Empowerment Gift Shop is located in the Urban Leage office in Farrell, and offers balloons, apparel and gift sets for any occasion, and provides an important resource for the people the Urban League aims to serve.

"We provide workforce development training for individuals who are homeless and low-income. They will learn how to do balloon garland, centerpieces, balloon walls, balloon arches, ballong stacks, [etc.] so this really is an opportunity to gain some skill and be more job ready," said Shenango Valley Urban League President and CEO Dr. Erin Houston.

Houston says the shop has had great reviews so far and is already getting returning customers.
