In a wild, bombshell of an announcement by the team less than an hour prior to Tuesday’s big game against the Boston Red Sox, the Jays announced that Santander would be activated for the contest, this after sitting out 100 games with a shoulder ailment.

Buried in that missive from the team was the fact that the team was designating Manoah for assignment, ending the former first-round pick’s tenure with the team. The move was ostensibly done to clear a roster spot for Santander but certainly hinted at how it felt
