The San Diego Padres unveiled a new Jackson Merrill mural in downtown San Diego on Tuesday.
One day after clinching a Major League Baseball playoff spot, the Friars are showing some special love for their star center fielder.
"Merrill Mural Madness," a four-story likeness of Merrill, was painted on the side of a building at 804 Market Street.
San Diego mural artists Chris Konecki and Carly Ealey painted the artwork that features Merrill's trademark bead necklace, beard, eye black and intensity.
"I love his expression, his fierce look he's giving," Ealey said. "It's very intense, victorious, determined."
"We love Merrill's style of play," Konecki added. "He's a young, enthusiastic player. He's full of passion and excitement."
