PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. –A former Putnam County bus driver who was involved in a crash while 28 students were on board pleaded guilty Tuesday to one misdemeanor charge.

Amy Allen pled guilty to one count of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury in the April 2024 incident. She was previously indicted and charged with 51 counts in November 2024, however as part of a plea deal the state dismissed 50 of those charges.

Allen was driving a bus when she crashed into a tree on Roosevelt Boulevard in Eleanor on April 10, 2024. According to Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, one student suffered internal injuries and had to undergo surgery.
