A plan to redevelop and transform the Brooklyn Marine Terminal in Redhook is moving ahead after multiple delays.
The proposal was created by a task force convened by local and state leaders and approved on Monday .
The $3.5 billion proposal includes plans to renovate the current 60-acre terminal into an all-electric port; deliver 6,000 housing units, with 40% being permanently affordable; and create 275,000 square feet of commercial space.
Andrew Kimball, the president and CEO of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and Adolfo Carrión Jr., the deputy mayor for Housing, Economic Development and Workforce, joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to look at the plan.
