WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Experts introduced a new way to manage chronic pain in Waterbury on Friday with a live demonstration.

The Morph Device, an FDA-approved and non-opioid treatment, now offers the opportunity to treat chronic pain without using over-the-counter or prescription drugs.

It works by using electrical stimulation in the ear to manage pain. The FDA has approved it for use after major surgeries, diabetic neuropathy pain and even opioid withdrawal pain.

According to Viva Elzol from Viva Health Care Consulting Services, it numbs pain and makes it slowly decrease. The minimally invasive technology runs on battery and does not require a surgery.
