GREENWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- The Greenwich Police Department is investigating after what appears to be human remains were found at a construction site.

According to police, on Thursday, an excavator at a construction site in the northern part of town disturbed the soil and workers discovered what appears to be human remains.

The remains were carefully collected from the scene and given to personnel from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. It is believed that the remains are "of considerable age" based on preliminary information, according to police.
