TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The city of Tucson is organizing a working group to explore an ordinance that would make public drug use a misdemeanor, as discussed during a city council meeting on Tuesday.

Drug use is a felony in Arizona, which falls under Pima County’s jurisdiction.

Ward 4 Councilmember Nikki Lee, who brought the proposal to the council, said a city-level ordinance will give the city more control.
