CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- The United Way of the Southern Tier announced Tuesday that it is investing almost $2 million into the community this year. Despite that, the organization is looking for public feedback in order to better meet Chemung and Steuben County resident's needs.
This year, 69 local nonprofits received funding from the United Way. The organization is asking residents to fill out a survey to try and better serve the community next year.
"Several years ago, United Way of the Southern Tier shifted its focus to supporting children, seniors, and individuals in crisis based on community feedback,” said Maleaha Smith, President and CEO of the United Way of the Southern Tier. “Community needs evolve, and we’re once again asking local residents to share their input so we can respon
