The incumbent mayor, David Dyar, who has held office for nearly 10 years, received the fewest votes in the August municipal elections , forcing a runoff between Walker and Pair.
Walker previously served as mayor of Boaz before Dyar, from 2000 to 2016.
Also in the runoff, Alan Hales won Boaz City Council Place three and Steven Bates won Boaz City Council Place 2.
