COLUMBIA, S.C. — Nearly two months into the school year, many Richland One students are still waiting for their laptops.
When the new school year began in August, the district did not have enough laptops for all students. Superintendent Todd Walker addressed the issue at Tuesday night’s school board meeting.
“We expect the remainder of laptops to be delivered by the end of the month, but we do not yet have an exact delivery date. Our teachers and staff are working to ensure that learning still occurs, and we do have an interdepartmental team that is working to ensure that we have processes and procedures in place so that we don’t find ourselves in this situation again,” Walker said.
The district ordered about 4,300 computers. So far, 934 have been delivered to schools, and another 789
