KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — September marks Hispanic Heritage Month, and in Tennessee, one family is honoring their Cuban roots.
In just four years, the owners of "Pastelito Cuban Bakery" have gone from perfecting recipes in their home kitchen to selling at farmers' markets and catering — and now, owning a shop of their own.
“We want to make them feel like they are family,” owner Ernesto Rodriguez said. “We want to make them feel like they are home here.”
When you step into Pastelito Cuban Bakery, you're greeted by the aroma of Cuban coffee, vibrant street photos from Havana and the unmistakable voice of Celia Cruz playing overhead.
“It’s an honor to be able to share our culture, our food, with anyone that walks in here,” Rodriguez said.
