KALIHI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run in Kalihi that claimed the life of a 58-year-old woman.

The Honolulu medical examiner and family members identified the victim as Cynthia Bagoyo.

She was hit Monday evening while crossing at a marked crosswalk after getting off the bus from work.

Police said the driver, an unidentified man, was turning from Kokea Street onto North School Street when he hit Bagoyo. He then fled westbound on North School Street.

Police said speed did not appear to be a factor, but it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were involved.

Sii Maiava, a nearby resident, said she saw emergency crews attempting to revive Bagoyo at around 7 p.m.
