KAHUKU (HawaiiNewsNow) - For the first time in three years the Malaekahana State Recreation Area in Kahuku will welcome back visitors.

But before the reopening set for 2026, the state is looking for managers to oversee the campground, beach and even open food and retail shops.

The park was closed in 2023 for infrastructure and facility upgrades.

Applications are open now through Sept. 30 at 4 p.m.
