Shake Shack opens amid hundreds of apartments, condos rising at Short Pump crossroads

A New York burger joint is the latest to open its doors at a bustling corner in Short Pump.

Last week Shake Shack opened at 12170 W. Broad St. in Roka Partners’ 12-acre West Village development.

It’s the third Shake Shack in the Richmond region, joining spots in Chesterfield and near Willow Lawn. It’s also the third commercial tenant to open at West Village, which has been taking shape at the corner of West Broad Street and North Gayton Road in Short Pump since 2023.

Fink’s Jewelers opened there last year and clothing retailer J.McLaughlin opened earlier this year. Fink’s relocated its store from Short Pump Town Center, while J.McLaughlin kept its first local store near Libbie and Grove.
