Jimmy Kimmel has returned to his ABC show after a five-day suspension, insisting he never intended to make light of Charlie Kirk's murder.
The comedian's late-night show was back on air on Tuesday following an indefinite suspension due to criticism over his comments about the assassination of conservative activist Kirk.
In a monologue following Mr Kirk's death, Kimmel stated that "many in Maga land are working very hard to capitalise on the murder of Charlie Kirk" and that "the Maga gang" was "desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them".
