The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 3:28 a.m. on Wednesday for dense fog until 8:30 a.m. for Cayuga and Oswego counties.

"Regional webcams and observations show fog has expanded across parts of the area this morning. Some of this fog is locally dense, with visibilities down to a quarter of a mile or less. If you will be traveling, be sure to slow down and be prepared for rapid changes in visibility. The fog is expected to slowly dissipate later this morning," states the weather service.
