Airdrie boss Danny Lennon admits he had mixed emotions after pushing Championship leaders St Johnstone all the way in a fiery clash last night.
The Diamonds trailed 2-0 after early strikes from Jamie Gullan and Cheick Diabate in the opening 19 minutes looked to have put Saints on course for a comfortable victory.
However, Airdrie's substitute in the second half made a big impact with Cammy Cooper, Aaron Reid and Tate Xavier-Jones posing a real attacking threat.
That eventually paid off when Cooper opened his Airdrie account with a fine finish in 74 minutes, but the Diamonds just couldn't find an equaliser.
