Scots may have seen some brighter weather over the past few days, but that's all to change, as a huge rainstorm longer than the country is to sweep the nation next week. And forecasters have warned that we could see rainfall of up to 10mm an hour, which is thought to be caused by the fall-out of Hurricane Gabrielle. ‌

The morning of next Thursday, October 2 will see the storm begin to roll across Scotland from around 6am, with the entire west half of the country drenched by heavy showers, according to the latest data from weather mapping service WX Charts. Heaviest around Fort William, the rainfall will continue to spread west throughout the morning. ‌
