St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church is inviting people to celebrate the Region's rich German heritage at the 19th annual Oktoberfest this weekend.

The festival schedule is 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church property at 11301 W. 93rd Ave. in St. John.

The St. John Oktoberfest was founded by parishioner Greg Schilling to honor his German heritage and the German immigrants who founded the parish.

There is no admission charge, and parking is free. Oktoberfest will feature live German bands, food and drinks. Musical performers include Pieptone & the Ed Wagner Band on Friday, The Gronik Children’s Ensemble. German Band Inc. and the Ed Wagner Band on Saturday and Proste! and the German Band Inc. on Sunday.
