: A 19-year-old student who scored in the 99.99 percentile in this year’s NEET exam died by su*cide in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district on the day he was scheduled to leave for admission to a medical college, police said Monday.
The victim, identified as Anurag Anil Borkar of Nawargaon in Sindewahi taluka, had secured an all-India rank of 1,475 in the OBC category. He was preparing to travel to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, for an MBBS admission when he was found dead at his residence, police said.
A su*cide note was recovered from the scene. While police have not released its contents, a source said Borkar had written that he did not want to become a doctor. The case is under investigation.
