Human remains discovered as part of a murder investigation have been identified. The remains were found off Blue Lane in Wimblington.

Cambridgeshire Police have now confirmed the remains belong to 55-year-old Julie Buckley. The remains were confirmed to be Julie’s after a post-mortem took place.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Stott said: “Julie’s family have been made aware of the post-mortem results, which were inconclusive on the cause of death, and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.”

Officers from the major crime unit launched a murder investigation earlier this year after Julie, from Christchurch, went missing. She was last seen on January 28, 2025 when she was captured on CCTV at Budgens supermarket in Marc
