DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — The Daviess County Sheriff's Office Animal Control Officers are set to host a free microchipping event for dogs and cats on Saturday, September 27, at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is open to residents of Daviess County. Residents must present ID to receive services. No appointments are needed.
Microchipping is a quick process that helps recover lost pets. Trained officers will implant microchips and check for existing ones, offering guidance on updating information if needed.
During the event, officers and deputies will also provide insights on pet ownership and community protection.
