Part of a main village road will remain closed after a burst water main damaged it . The water main burst along Broadway, at the junction of London Road, in Yaxley near Peterborough .

The water main has been repaired and residents’ water supplies should be back to normal. However, Anglian Water has said part of the road will remain closed until Friday (September 26) while repairs take place.

An Anglian Water spokesperson said: “We’re sorry for any disruption in Yaxley over the last few days. Our engineers have repaired a burst water main on Broadway, and all customers’ water supplies should be back to normal.

“We’re now working hard to make the road safe to walk and drive on again, which should be finished by the end of the week. In the meantime, we’ve had to close a section of Br
