A pair of crashes on Whancliffe Road, including one that left a SUV suspended on a guy wire, snarled morning traffic in London on Wednesday.
Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Wharncliffe Road and Horton Street at 9:25 a.m. One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
A pair of police officers directed traffic at the busy intersection while the wreckage was cleared. Traffic was backed up for commuters travelling downtown.
Less than five minutes later, police responded to a second crash on Whancliffe Road and Empress Avenue, south of Oxford Street, where an SUV was stuck on a guy wire. Nobody was injured, police said.
