AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo League of Women Voters (LWV) is celebrating its 75th anniversary as an organization in October.

The festivities are set for Saturday, Oct. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at AmTech Career Academy, 3601 Plains Boulevard.

Event organizers say everyone is welcome, whether you’re in the League or not.

LWV says the goal of the event is to share the rich history of the organization and how it has shaped voting advocacy in Amarillo for more than seven decades.

The public can enjoy food, community and educational presentations.

Tickets can be purchased here before Sept. 26. LWV says tickets will not be sold at the door.
