ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) -- A man was killed in a hit-and-run Wednesday morning in Robeson County, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said.
It happened at about 5:40 a.m. on Mt. Zion Church Road near the Hoke County line, First Sgt. S.B. Lewis said. The pedestrian, identified as Gary Brayboy of Pembroke, was walking in the road when he was hit by a vehicle traveling south on Mt. Zion Church Road that fled the scene.
Brayboy was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Lewis. The vehicle and the driver of the vehicle are currently unknown.
