A thug who battered his brother with a broken bottle has been jailed for eight months. ‌

Aiden Oakes admitted assaulting the sibling in Glen Tower, Motherwell, on March 6, 2023. ‌

When he was sentenced in October last year, Oakes, of Aitken Street, Airdrie, avoided prison and was instead placed under supervision for two years. ‌

He was also ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work and given a 10-month electronic tagging order.

However, he got into more trouble and that resulted in him being reported for breaching his community payback order.

Oakes, 22, appeared from prison via videolink at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week. ‌
