GRANDVIEW PLAZA, Kan. (KSNW) -- A portion of Interstate 70 will close this evening.

The Kansas Department of Transportation is closing the J Hill Road bridge exit 299 at Grandview Plaza, just east of Junction City, starting at 7 p.m. Crews will be working to remove the J Hill Road bridge through the evening and overnight hours.

Traffic will be diverted to the off-ramps and back onto the interstate via the on-ramps. Local traffic will need to use Old Highway 40/Flint Hills Blvd to access Interstate 70 either from the K-57 Highway junction to the east, or at 6th Street in Junction City to the west.

The work is expected to be completed by 7 a.m. Thursday.
