PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WBTW) -- Three teenagers are facing charges in connection with several vehicle break-ins in Pawleys Island, police said.

Police released surveillance video on Sept. 8 to alert residents to the break-ins. It showed a person going up to the driver's side door of a parked car and checking to see whether it was locked.

Police said the break-ins happened on the north end of the island but did not say how many vehicles were targeted. Police did not identify the teens, but said all three are from Georgetown.

Detectives built their case by viewing video and interviewing victims and suspects, police said. Georgetown police assisted in the investigation.
