In Tennessee's Top Ten Traffic Safety Laws , seat belt safety is at #3 and child passenger safety is at #8.

According to the Tennessee Highway Safety Department , Tennessee was the first to pass a child restraint law in 1977. It officially went into law the next year. By 1985, all 50 states in the US followed suit.
