(Springfield, MO) — A subsidiary of Springfield, Missouri-based Bass Pro is buying long-time watercraft manufacturer Hobie. White River Marine has announced plans to return Hobie production from Mexico to Lebanon, Missouri, closer to Bass Pro headquarters in the Missouri Ozarks.

“We’re proud to see Bass Pro Shops and White River Marine Group deepening their commitment to Missouri through this expansion,” said Governor Mike Kehoe. “This investment is strengthening the community of Lebanon while contributing to Missouri’s reputation as a prime destination for both business and outdoor adventure.”

The Missouri Department of Economic Development says calls the expansion a significant investment which will result in new jobs in Missouri.
