COLUMBIA — Columbia Fifth Ward council member Don Waterman will speak to the community Wednesday evening in a "Let's Talk Local" discussion.
The session begins at 5:30 p.m. at Gentry Middle School , 4200 Bethel St., and will focus on economic development. The city of Columbia is partnering with Regional Economic Development Inc. for the discussion.
The event is free and open to anyone. The city said refreshments will be provided, and it asked attendees to register at the Let’s Talk Local: Ward 5 Discussion Registration Form .
The city started hosting "Let's Talk Local" events in January .
According to City Manager De’Carlon Seewood, the idea was to "discuss important community topics and share insights on the issues that matter most."
