BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY: We’re tracking some strong storms across the area with intense lightning and gusty straight-line winds. The good news is much-needed rain has been falling, and more wet-weather storms are possible through Wednesday evening. Stay weather alert for the threat of lightning and strong storms.

We may be able to cancel the First Alert Weather Day earlier tomorrow, although we’re still monitoring for the possibility of a few strong to severe storms over eastern areas. The chance for scattered showers will linger throughout the day Thursday, with the greatest chance to the east.
