NEW LONDON, Conn. — Connecticut officials have agreed to a $2.25 million settlement stemming from the 2023 killing of visiting nurse Joyce Grayson by a sex offender at a halfway house in Willimantic.
“For them, this marks, hopefully, the beginning of a new chapter where they can begin to move forward,” said Kelly Reardon, the Grayson family attorney.
Reardon said the family is happy with the outcome of their lawsuit over Grayson’s death.
A state judge in Hartford approved that settlement for a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Ronald Grayson, Joyce’s husband.
Reardon said they’re also nearing a resolution with other parties involved in the lawsuit, including Grayson’s employer and the January Center, the nonprofit organization that ran the program Grayson’s killer attended when he was
