MARIETTA, Okla. (KFOR) – Nearly 18 months after an EF4 tornado hit the town of Marietta, its largest employer announced it would be rebuilding. Dollar Tree broke ground Wednesday at the site of its distribution center that was ripped apart by the April 2024 tornado.
The company, along with several state leaders, including Governor Kevin Stitt and U.S. Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma, turned dirt during the ceremony.
It was a small symbol of big things to come.
"It's not just ground at this point, it's the future of our town," said Destry Rushing, Marietta’s mayor. Dollar Tree has plans to rebuild its largest distribution center in the same location.
