A woman has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of another woman in South Shore earlier this year, according to Chicago police.

Terri Bailey, 36, faces a first-degree murder charge and was arrested Monday, police said.

About 5:25 a.m. February 9, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 1800 block of East 79th Street and found Jamia Taylor, 29, unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Taylor, of West Pullman, was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where she was pronounced dead an hour later.

Bailey is due in court Thursday.
