ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) - Many frontal boundaries were forecast to slide into the region for the next few days. The systems will bring lots of rain to the Twin Tiers through tonight until finally exiting by the end of the day Friday.

High pressure returns with reckless abandon next week. The rain that we have now will be a distant memory. Make way for partly-to-mostly sunny conditions this weekend and the sunshine and drier weather won't stop at the weekend. We are caught in another dry pattern for most of next week.

Until then, we will have amassed over an inch-and-a-half of rain areawide by the time that the clouds part. Temperatures for next week are forecast to be well-above average and in the upper-70s under mostly clear skies.
