Black Button Distilling will remain open after all, thanks to a friend and partner in a Kentucky-based investment company.
After Black Button Distilling owner Jason Barrett announced earlier in the year the distilling company he founded was closing , the Rochester community rallied behind the distiller known for popular spirits such as Bespoke Bourbon Creme.
That’s when Kris Comstock, president of Blackstar Co., stepped in, according to a post on Black Button’s website.
“Really, it’s the people of Rochester who helped save Black Button,” Comstock said in the post. “I saw how much it meant to them, and I knew I had to do whatever I could to help.”
So, apparently, Comstock, who in the post is described as a spirits industry expert, did.
