WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Ogeechee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Robert Busbee has released a statement regarding the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.

He was appointed to the GBI investigation in August.

It’s in relation to claims of Sheriff Alfonzo Williams falsifying training records and out-of-town travel using county funds.

On Wednesday, Busbee confirmed the file is now in his office.

“This matter is complex and requires careful review with the appropriate parties before any decisions are made.
