KAHULUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Three family-owned businesses have been serving Maui residents for over 100 years, spanning generations and surviving challenging global events.

Hasegawa General Store

Fifty miles from Kahului Airport, the Hasegawa General Store of Hana is the island’s oldest family-run business.

Founded in 1910, the shop has been passed down through four generations.

“It’s awesome just being in business in this day and age and perpetuating what my great-grandfather and great-granduncle started,” said current owner Neil Hasegawa.

The store offers a diverse selection of products, including fresh produce and gourmet coffee.

“It’s like a real, true general store,” said Hasegawa. “We can’t specialize in any one thing because of the remoteness of where we are.
