WAIKIKI, Hawaii (Island News) – Honolulu police arrested a man on Wednesday accused of beating a man with a brick and robbing him at a Waikiki bus stop.
An investigation was opened following the assault that occurred just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at a bus stop on Kuhio Avenue. Police found a 65-year-old man bleeding from his head and a brick was found nearby.
Police determined the victim was struck multiple times with the brick and that the suspect also stole his belongings. He taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
A 32-year-old man was arrested in Kaneohe on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 24, in connection to the Waikiki incident. He was being investigated for an unrelated crime, then he was taken into custody for attempted murder and robbery.
