SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - “I was very excited because I’ve been wanting to lift my whole life, basically, to get stronger for football, basketball, and baseball season,” said Tyler Morgan, an 8th-grade student at Sikeston Junior High.

Morgan is excited about the addition of the new weight room on campus. He said lifting weights early will prepare student athletes for the next level.

Earlier this school year, the Sikeston Jaycees donated $10,000 to the Sikeston Junior High School for the purpose of furnishing a weight room at the school.

“The people before us didn’t have a weight room, and I feel like we’ll be stronger than they were going into high school,”
